tilke elkins cultivates a physical intimacy with the land and its materials. she works outside, climbing, crawling, swaying, and resting, absorbing messages, reassurance, jokes, coincidences and other personality traits of the landscape.
tilke received a ba from middlebury college and an mfa from bennington college. she attended the school of the museum of fine arts, boston for a semester. between 1999 and 2005 she produced the nationally distributed all round, a radical mag for children ages one to one-hundred and up. she lives and works in springfield, oregon.
